Re-write of The Ugly Duckling with an environmental twist. The ugly duckling 

himself is made from rags, dish clothes, & socks, growing into a beautiful silk & 

lace swan. 


On his adventures he is chased from the over crowded farm and ends up dangerously 

close to a busy road & built up town, the river is neglected, full of litter. He 

finds his way back to the small remaining nature reserve where he was born, 

illustrated with natural fibers and a glowing lake.
